Q: Why is Monad merging with Numerica?
A: Monad Federal Credit Union is committed to the credit union philosophy of helping our members on a daily basis to improve their financial lives. Monad’s Chief Executive Officer announced her intention to retire and, as a result, the Board determined that it was in your best interests to merge with a credit union to provide you with a full range of financial services. Monad’s current size and availability of resources represents a barrier to offering a wider variety of services and maintaining competitive rates into the future. The Board of Directors and management realize that these benefits can only come through economies of scale beyond the current ability of the credit union.
At the Special Meeting of Membership, held Feb. 5, 2018, at the Pasco Red Lion, member votes were tallied. It was announced that Monad members affirmatively voted to merge Monad with Numerica Credit Union.
It is important to note that although Monad will officially be merged with Numerica Credit Union on March 1, that the actual conversion date when Monad members will be able to do business at other Numerica branches is April 1.
Q: What does Monad gain by merging with Numerica?

Q: What types of deposit products will be avaialble?
A: Numerica offers a full array of savings and deposit products, including Savings Accounts, Checking Accounts, Money Market Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, and IRAs. Please take a look at the Account Conversion Chart to see how deposit accounts will change and the benefits that are included with the new Numerica account.
Q: Will rates or terms on my current loans with Monad change?
A: No. Your current loan rate, term and payment will not change. Numerica prides itself on providing the best value in financial products to its members. A letter explaining the conversion of your Monad Visa® will be sent on Feb. 13.
Q: How will existing loan payments be made?
A: After conversion, loan payments can be made at any Numerica branch, including the Monad branch location or through Online Banking or the Mobile App. In addition, payments can be mailed directly to Numerica at:

Q: What if members have an account at both Numerica and Monad? How will they access both accounts?
A: Monad members will have their accounts moved to new accounts at Numerica. To avoid any disruption or confusion, they will not be combined into existing accounts. Each account will have a unique member number, which can be used to access the account. Please take a look at the Account Conversion Chart to see how deposit accounts will change and the benefits that are included with the new Numerica account.
At a later date, you can request that your accounts be combined for your convenience.
Q: Will members keep their existing account number? If not, when will that change?
A: Monad members will receive new account numbers, which should be used after the conversion date. The conversion date is set for April 1, 2018.However, members’ current account numbers will be associated with the new number so that the Monad account number can initially be used to locate their account. In the interim, we will ensure that your outstanding checks and automated payments will post to your new accounts accurately.
Q: How will the merger affect our direct deposits and withdrawals? Do members need to do something?
A: Monad members will be able to use their existing checks and Monad account number for automated deposits and withdrawals during the conversion, through Oct. 1, 2018. Numerica will provide all Monad members with updated account information to share with those organizations. An Action Letter with instructions on how to set up your automatic withdrawals and deposits was sent to you. If you still have questions, please call our E-Services Department at 800.255.9194.
SwitchAgent: Once you sign up for Online Banking, you can click on “E-Services” and select “Switch your Direct Deposits & Payments to Numerica” for a secure, automated service that makes it easy to move your automated deposits and withdrawal transactions from your Monad account into your account with Numerica. Please refer to the enclosed Setting Up Your Automatic Withdrawals & Deposits for more information on setting up electronic transactions on your own.
Q: What is happening to Monad staff?
A: Monad’s CEO is retiring in 2018. Monad staff have been offered employment with Numerica and will continue to serve you at the current Monad location. Employees who chose not to continue employment with Numerica will be given severance packages, with the amount corresponding to salary and years of service.
Q: What is happening with the current Monad Branch?
A: It is Numerica's intention to continue operating the existing Monad branch located at 1817 W. Sylvester Street, Pasco. This branch, along with the other local Numerica branches, will be available to serve your banking needs. The Monad branch will be open Monday-Thursday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Fridays, from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. The drive through will be open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
In addition, pending City permitting, Numerica is planning to install an ATM for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Q: Will Monad checks still work? For how long? When will Monad members receive new checks from Numerica?
A: Yes, your checks will continue to be good through the conversion. Monad members will eventually need to replace their existing checks with new checks.
If you have Monad checks, bring those into a Numerica branch before Oct. 1, 2018, and we’ll give you one free box of Numerica checks. Your current Monad checks will continue to work with your new Numerica account through Oct. 1, 2018. However, they will no longer be accepted and will be returned after Oct. 1.
Q: Will Monad credit and debit cards continue to work? For how long? When will Monad members receive new credit and debit cards from Numerica?
A: Monad members with credit and debit cards will receive replacement cards in the mail in mid March, before Monad accounts are converted to Numerica accounts. The conversion date is set for April 1, 2018. Existing debit and credit cards will continue to work up until that day. New Numerica cards should be activated the day of conversion, and used going forward. Numerica will send more information to Monad members with specific details throughout Feb. and March.
Q: Does Numerica charge fees?
A: Numerica helps our members live well by offering competitive fees. In order to stay strong to this commitment, we regularly evaluate our fees to ensure that our fees and service costs are balanced and that they are comparable to other credit unions. This ensures that we remain a safe, strong financial institution that can adapt quickly to innovation and meet your needs. A fee schedule will be included in an Information Packet, scheduled to mail the week of Feb. 19. Detailed information can be found at our branches or by calling 800.433.1837.
Q: What do I need to do now?
A: Please review your Action Letter with new account details and instructions. You should have already received this; if not, please contact us at 800.433.1837.
Starting April 1, you can begin signing up for Online Banking and Bill Pay, downloading the Numerica App, setting your automatic deposits and transfers, and trading in your Monad checks for Numerica checks. Q: Will I still be able to call the credit union for account information?
A. Yes! Members have Telephone Access through a toll-free number (800.433.1837) to Numerica's bi-lingual (Spanish & English) Member Experience Center. The Member Experience Center operates Monday through Saturday to answer member questions, and even make loans from start-to-finish over the phone. Members can also choose “Option 6” when calling in to simply check balances. Because members have increased access to real people in addition to Online Banking and the Mobile App, Monad’s current MARS Telephone Teller will be discontinued on March 30.

*Qualifiers to earn dividends on Sequel Checking include any combination of 12 transactions of $5 or more on your Sequel account debit card or credit card transactions under the same member account (excluding transactions at ATMs), one Online Banking login per month, e-Statements with a valid email address, and one electronic withdrawal, deposit or transfer of at least $100 each month (excludes transfers to/from Numerica shares or loans). If the account requirements are not met, the rate will be 0.00% Annual Percentage Yield (APY). Requirements are calculated for each calendar month. Fees may reduce earnings on account.
Official Merger Date
On this date, Monad Credit Union will officially become Numerica Credit Union. You will start to see signs changing to Numerica and some fun updates in the branch. Your account will not yet be transferred or converted to a Numerica account, so we won’t be able to help you at our branches just yet.
Credit & Debit Cards Arrive
If you have a Monad debit or credit card, you will receive new Numerica debit and credit cards between March 10 and March 20. Continue to use your current Visa® card through March 31. Do not activate your Numerica card before April 1, and do not destroy your current card until after using your new card for the first time. Refer to the sticker on the card for activation instructions. We don’t foresee any issues with the transfer or conversion of accounts from Monad to Numerica. However, we recommend that you do not rely solely on your card over the conversion weekend (March 30-April 1).
Monad members will receive an “Action” Packet during this time that will include your new account number and important information about receiving new checks, online banking and bill pay, setting up direct deposit and automatic payments, and more. Please be sure to read through this packet as it will guide you to using your new account.
Transfer & Conversion of Monad Account to Numerica
On April 1, all Monad accounts will be transferred or converted to Numerica accounts. At this time, you can activate and begin using your Numerica Visa debit and credit cards. You can also begin using all Numerica branches, the Mobile App, and Online Banking for your transactions.
Because we want to make this transition as smooth as possible, Numerica will have member service representatives available over the holiday weekend, including Easter Sunday. If you have any concerns or problems, please call 800.433.1837.

Access to Monad Historical Statements through Numerica’s Online Banking
You may continue to access historical E-Statements through Monad’s existing online banking system through May 31 (log in at top of this web page). However, live access to transaction history and transfers will be turned off at 6:00 p.m. on March 30. Access to both Monad account statements and Numerica statements will be available through Numerica’s Online Banking beginning June 1.
Deadline for Automatic Withdrawals & Deposits
Automatic withdrawals and transfers (such as direct deposit or gym memberships) will continue to work using your existing Monad account information through Oct. 1, 2018. As with your existing accounts at Monad Federal Credit Union, you will need to use your full Account Number when setting up electronic transactions. Please refer to the enclosed Setting Up Your Automatic Withdrawals & Deposits for more information. Please be sure to provide your new account information to any outside entity that is initiating automatic transactions.
Automatic transfers scheduled between your Monad account and your Monad loans or shares will move to your Numerica account; there is nothing you need to do. This will include any pre-arranged union dues or vacation deposits. Electronic transactions received using your Monad account information after Oct. 1, 2018 will be returned.

If you have Monad checks, bring those into a Numerica branch before Oct. 1, 2018, and we’ll give you one free box of Numerica checks. Your current Monad checks will continue to work with your new Numerica account through Oct. 1, 2018. However, they will no longer be accepted and will be returned after Oct. 1, 2018.
