Cruising for a Cause

Nearly 300 Numerica Credit Union members, guests, and staff sailed away for the Cruising for a Cause event on Friday, June 14, 2019.

It was the second annual event for the member-owned credit union, and benefitted Safe Harbor, a non-profit committed to helping Tri-Cities children and families heal from trauma and recover from abuse and neglect.

“The impact and programs that Safe Harbor offers to our community’s children and their families in times of crisis is critical to their overall health and well-being,” said Andy Stirling, Numerica’s Senior Vice President of Central Washington. “Numerica is proud to partner with Safe Harbor throughout the year to support their efforts and was thrilled to spotlight the organization’s impact at this year’s Cruising for a Cause event.”

Shoreline party admission tickets were available for only $15 and included a meal from Ciao Wagon and Fast & Curryous, both food truck members of the Downtown Pasco Development Authority. Admission also included a drink ticket for a beer from Ice Harbor Brewing or a glass of wine, and music by DJ Sworth. A ticket to both the Shoreline Party and 45-minute boat cruise with Water 2 Wine was only $40.

Numerica also matched the first $2,000 in donations raised from the evening.

Numerica Credit Union Cruising for a Cause total donation $4229.47. All proceeds went to Safe Harbor. Cruising, Numerica and Safe Harbor logos in white on a blue background.

“Cruising for a Cause is truly a member and community appreciation event,” said Andy Stirling, SVP of Central Washington. “Numerica is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring guests together for a memorable night of great food and drinks, awesome music, and a beautiful cruise with Water2Wine.”

While bringing the community together for an evening of great food and fun on the Columbia River, Numerica Credit Union and members were also able to raise funds for Safe Harbor. In total, the event raised $4,229.47, but it was the awareness and support raised for Safe Harbor that is truly priceless.

We hope to see many more members and friends at our upcoming events.
