Go Vandals, go mighty Vandals! Kicks for Kids Raises over $1,900 for Children’s Miracle Network.
Numerica Credit Union has championed the University of Idaho’s football team to cheer on the Vandals with Kicks for Kids. This season, the program benefited Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) in honor of Collin Sather, a former Vandal football star.
Collin Sather's dream was to play division 1 football in college and that was realized when he was offered a preferred walk-on opportunity at the University of Idaho.
He was a redshirt freshman preparing for spring ball when he was sidelined by a rare form of kidney cancer. Sather, a former West Valley football and basketball star, was only 19 years old when he lost his fight with cancer. His team continued his legacy with this season’s Kicks for Kids.
Numerica donated a total of $1,925: $25 for every extra point, $50 for every field goal, and $250 for every on-side kick to Children’s Miracle Network to help provide the best medical care for kids in our community.
At the November game against Sacramento State, University of Idaho and Numerica hosted Kellen Anderson, a spunky six year old who had recently “graduated” from Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.
Kellen got the full Vandal experience, riding with Joe Vandal onto the field and receiving a special game ball at half time.
Jennifer Lehn, Numerica VP product and external development, had the joy of standing with Kellen and his family to present the Kicks for Kids donation to Children’s Miracle Network with the support of Collin Sather’s parents, who have seen CMN’s work firsthand.
“Numerica is honored to partner with University of Idaho to honor Collin and his family,” Lehn said. “Part of building our community is coming together to support our youth when they need us most.”
Numerica is proud to support the unmistakable Vandal spirit, inspiring the North Idaho Community both on and off the field.
