In an effort to help provide library services to the currently-unserved West Central neighborhood, Numerica Credit Union recently announced a $50,000 donation to support the 24/7 Library. The kiosk, the first of its type in Spokane, will house 340 library materials and will be located at the West Central Community Center.
“Numerica Credit Union is committed to enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities,” shares Carla Cicero, President & CEO of Numerica Credit Union.
“We believe that the 24/7 Library Kiosk embodies that commitment by breaking down existing barriers for members of the West Central neighborhood, providing free and open access to a wide range of learning materials. Numerica is proud to partner with Spokane Public Libraries and West Central Community Center to support this innovative project.”
On Tuesday, February 27, Numerica Chief Information Officer, Kelley Ferguson, attended a check presentation event at the Spokane Public Library.
“This project truly showcases the Spokane community’s spirit of coming together to make life better,” shared Ferguson. “We could not be more excited about the opportunities this project offers in terms of access to educational materials.”
The 24/7 Library Kiosk is expected to be open to the public by July 17. Future users can vote for what books and materials they’d like to see housed in the kiosk by visiting West Central Community Center.
