Inlander Restaurant Week is a culinary attraction that catches both the eye and stomach of area patrons. What began in 2013 to showcase the region’s burgeoning culinary scene, has grown to more than 100 restaurants featuring carefully created chef selections. The 10-day event is presented by Numerica Credit Union and runs from Thursday, February 23 to Saturday, March 4, throughout the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene region.
The event also helps to serve as a stimulus for restaurants at an otherwise traditionally slow time of the year.
“The timing is great,” says John Grollmus, proprietor at Two Seven Public House and Geno’s Traditional Food and Ales. “This time of year people are saving money and staying home because of the weather. Restaurant Week makes a huge difference to the restaurant in keeping up sales.”
Helping to make this community event possible is presenting sponsor Numerica Credit Union. Numerica’s mission of enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities was a perfect pairing to this community endeavor. The $1.7 billion credit union embraced the opportunity to help support local businesses and the community.
“We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help support this culinary collaboration and celebrate bringing our community together,” says Kelli Hawkins, Director of Communications for Numerica. “We know this week means so much for our area businesses as well.” From loans to Private Banking, Cash Management Solutions to tools to keep a business running smoothly, Numerica customizes solutions to help their business members.
What to expect
Inlander Restaurant Week mirrors many similar events across the nation. All working towards the awareness of local restaurants at a special price that excites the community.
The full menu and participating restaurants can be found at http://inlanderrestaurantweek.com/.
With a $19 price point and mouthwatering items like a Chicken and Bacon Bite, Mu Shu Wrap and Moon Unit (homemade brownie topped with Tillamock vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce), Two Seven is hoping to tempt hungry customers with some menu favorites and new fusion cuisine only available during the 10-day event.
“Staff like Restaurant Week because it helps to shake up their daily routine, but it’s also a great time to offer different, delicious pairings we normally don’t have,” says Grollmus.
In addition to helping stimulate the local economy and fill your belly, Restaurant Week has an added community benefit. Every time #IRWRaveReview is used on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter a $1 donation (providing five meals) will be made to Second Harvest of the Inland Northwest.
