$tarting Off Right Scholarship

We're offering $1,250 scholarships to 16 high school seniors this year because we believe in the connection between education and well-being. It boosts resiliency. It increases earning potential. It equips us with skills to make our community a better place.

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must be enrolled in a trade, vocational, certificate, associate, or bachelor's degree program in fall 2024.

This need-based scholarship supports individuals who share Numerica’s commitment to enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams, and building communities.

Important 2024 scholarship dates

  • April 1: Applications open
  • April 30: Applications close
  • June 5: Applicants notified of awards decision

2023 Recipients

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a Numerica member in good standing
  • High school senior entering into a trade, vocational, certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree program in the fall of 2024
  • Provide 2 letters of recommendation from different sources (i.e., teacher, coach, manager, nonprofit, pastor, or school counselor)
  • Meet minimum 150-word count on all narrative application questions
  • Provide a copy of an acceptance letter from a regionally or nationally accredited institution of higher education
  • Provide Student Aid Index (SAI) score or explanation of lack of SAI score
  • Complete “Preparing to Pay for College” quiz and attach a screenshot of the confirmation screen

Through this award-winning program, students gain financial tools to help them on the path to financial well-being. Numerica’s financial education curriculum was developed with area teachers to provide fundamental financial resources and encourage ongoing financial conversations.

Numerica’s most requested financial education lessons (Budgeting, Credit, Fraud, and Paying for College/Trade School) are available for in-class teaching or virtual learning. Contact a team member to get more information on bringing financial education into your classroom.  

Numerica’s $tarting Off Right – Financial Education Workbook offers teachers flexibility to customize a learning program to fit their class’ need and covers:

  • Budgeting from knowing where to begin budgeting to how to find hidden money for that dream vacation, learn about various budgeting tools and the steps in how to get started.

    • Where do you start when you are buying a home?
    • How much can you afford for a home loan?
    • What types of home loans are available?
  • Credit scores and the role they play in our lives. Another popular topic is how to improve your credit score.
  • Borrowing basics including how to get a loan how to find and get a loan that best fits your needs.
  • Car buying tips and considerations for an auto loan.
  • Investments both short term savings and long term investments like retirement.
