Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena is now the Numerica Veterans Arena, with a $1M commitment to support local veterans, military families, and community.
Spokane’s premier sports and entertainment venue has a new name and a renewed mission. Starting this fall, the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena will be officially renamed the Numerica Veterans Arena, honoring past, present, and future veterans.
The 10-year naming partnership between Numerica Credit Union and the Spokane Public Facilities District (SPFD) includes a $1 million commitment to support local veterans, active-duty military members, and their families.
“Numerica is deeply committed to serving those who have served us,” said Carla Cicero, Numerica president and CEO. “This is more than a naming partnership. It’s a promise to invest in veterans and military families in ways that create lasting impact. Every time the Numerica Veterans Arena name is spoken, it stands as a symbol of gratitude, honor, and community support.”
As part of the agreement, Numerica will establish the Numerica Heroes Fund, pledging at least $1 million over the next decade. Funds will be directed to local programs that address housing, wellness, employment, and family support. Spokane County Regional Veteran Services and the Spokane County Veterans Advisory Board will guide allocations to areas of greatest need.
This commitment builds on Numerica’s philanthropic focus on ending childhood poverty and creating brighter futures. Supporting veterans strengthens families, households, and the next generation.
Cat Nichols, Spokane County Regional Veterans Services director: “Funding commitments like this are critical to the wellbeing of veteran and military families. The Numerica Veterans Arena provides both honor and resources that directly address challenges like homelessness, suicide prevention, and long-term stability.”
Stephanie Curran, SPFD CEO: “This partnership shows what happens when community-focused organizations come together with a shared purpose. We’re proud to make veterans a more visible part of the arena’s identity.”
The arena has a long history of honoring veterans through memorials on its campus and programs like Vet Tix, which has donated more than 12,000 tickets worth over $1 million to service members and their families.
This naming rights partnership coincides with the 30th anniversary of the arena in 2025. Numerica also continues its support of the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club, building on a partnership that began in 2016.
“For years, our partnership with the arena and the Spokane Chiefs has been about family entertainment and economic growth,” Cicero said. “Now, we’re honored to deepen that commitment by uplifting the veteran community in such a visible and lasting way.”
Andy Billig, CEO of Brett Sports and the Spokane Chiefs, added: “Numerica’s values and community focus make them an ideal partner for the arena, the Chiefs, and the Inland Northwest.”
The community will celebrate the new name at the Spokane Chiefs Heroes Game on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7:05 p.m. Veterans and active-duty military families will receive free tickets, a hosted pre-game celebration, and on-ice recognition. Tickets will be distributed through Fairchild Air Force Base and Spokane County Regional Veteran Services.
Headquartered in Spokane Valley, Numerica serves over 175,000 members across Eastern Washington, Central Washington, and North Idaho. With more than $5 billion in assets under management, Numerica invests in enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams, and building communities. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or worships in Washington or North Idaho. Numerica is federally insured by NCUA and an Equal Housing Opportunity lender.
The SPFD operates five venues in downtown Spokane, including the Numerica Veterans Arena, Spokane Convention Center, First Interstate Center for the Arts, The Podium, and ONE Spokane Stadium. These venues host national conventions, sports, concerts, and community events, generating significant economic impact for the region.
Spokane County Regional Veteran Services (SCRVSC) has supported veterans since 1952. In partnership with the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, it offers financial relief, employment services, benefits assistance, and advocacy. In 2024, SCRVSC secured over $25 million in VA Claims awards for local veterans.
The Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club is the anchor tenant of the Numerica Veterans Arena. The Chiefs are a U.S. Division team in the Western Hockey League’s Western Conference.
