What is a mobile wallet?
A mobile wallet stores your debit or credit card securely on your phone or smartwatch.
Once your card is added, you can tap your device to pay anywhere contactless payments are accepted.
Some mobile wallets can also be used for online shopping and in-app purchases.
Why use a mobile wallet?
Many members use mobile wallets because they’re:

Using your phone or watch to pay can also mean:

How to add your Numerica Visa card to a mobile wallet
Getting started usually only takes a few minutes.
- Open the wallet app on your phone or smartwatch
- Select Add card
- Enter your Numerica Visa card information
- Follow the verification prompts
- Start using your device to pay where contactless payments are accepted
Depending on your device, you may be asked to verify your card by text, email, or phone.
Where can you use a mobile wallet?
You can use your mobile wallet in many places you already shop, including:
- Grocery stores
- Restaurants and coffee shops
- Gas stations
- Retail stores
- Online and in-app purchases

Is paying with your phone safe?
Mobile wallets include built-in security features designed to help protect your information.
Your full card number is not stored directly on your device or shared with the store during purchases. Many devices also use facial recognition, or passcodes before approving payments.

What happens if you lose your phone or smartwatch?
If your device is lost or stolen, you can usually:
- Lock your device remotely
- Remove payment cards from your device
- Freeze your card in Online Banking or the Mobile App if needed
- You can also review recent transactions and manage alerts through online banking.
